B&G Roofing and Sheet Metal Inc. is a privately owned corporation established in 1986 by owners Guy & Kathy Cruickshanks.

The company specializes in flat roofing for the Industrial, Commercial and Institutional sectors. B&G Roofing and Sheet Metal Inc is licensed, insured and bonded. We are recognized as Prequalified Approved Applicators with many roofing manufacturers. Located on a 22 acre parcel of land on the upper Stoney Creek mountain, there is ample warehousing, equipment and office space that allows us to complete any size project. We take pride in providing exceptional service while operating with fairness, integrity and loyalty to our customers, employees, suppliers and the communities in which we serve.

Over the years, B&G has been able to complete roofing projects for many School Boards and municipalites such as the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board, Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board, District School Board of Niagara, Niagara Catholic District School Board, Halton School Board, Grand Erie District School Board, City of Hamilton, City of Burlington, City of St. Catharines and numerous other privately held companies. No job is too large or too small.

Safety Policy

Management of B&G Roofing and Sheet Metal Inc., is vitally interested in the health and safety of its employees.  Protection of employees from injury or occupational disease is a major continuing objective and ultimately as employer, the responsibility of B&G Roofing and Sheet Metal Inc.

As Officer/Owner, I give my personal promise that every reasonable precaution will be taken for the protection of workers.

All supervisors and workers must also be dedicated to the continuing objective to prevent accident or injury.  Supervisors are responsible to ensure that machinery and equipment are safe and that employees work in compliance with established work practices and procedures.

It is in the best interest of all parties to consider health & safety in every activity.  Every worker must protect his or her own health by working in compliance with our policy and that of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations. No task should be considered so urgent that care is not taken to ensure safety.

Commitment to health and safety must form an integral part of this organization from the owners to our employees, with positive action and co-operation we all create a safer workplace.

Safety Procedures

With asphalt reaching temperatures of 475° F, it is vital for us to ensure that our motto “NOBODY GETS HURT” is enforced and safety training and awareness is provided for each employee of the company.  Prior to commencing employment, employees are required to attend an in-depth orientation of our company safety policy, practices and procedures.  Further training is completed with an “on-site” orientation provided by our company Health & Safety Representative.  In addition to the orientation employees are trained in the following areas where their position requires training:

- Working at Heights (All employees)
- Propane in Roofing
- WHMIS (All employees)
- Personal Protective Equipment (All employees)
- First Aid
- Construction Health & Safety Representative
- Emergency Procedures
- Accident Investigation
